Meet the Team: Catie DiFelice

What makes you passionate about your work in executive search?

Executive search is the first and only career I’ve held. I started my career doing corporate executive search and it didn’t speak to my soul or values. Once I moved to the nonprofit side, I knew this is where I was meant to be. We may not be directly changing the world ourselves, but we are a key part in hiring those who are out there making the biggest difference in communities across the country.

What does it mean to you to be a part of a diversity-focused firm?

Everything. Being a cis, white, ally, it can be tough to “prove” yourself as someone who is knowledgeable in DEIB and LGBTQ+ competency. Having the backing of a firm where diversity is embedded in the team and its values, is core to the success we have had over the years and the reputation we’ve built.

What are your favorite kinds of searches to work on?

Those where we know we can really make a difference internally, externally, and especially with the people served. Many nonprofit organizations do not have the bandwidth to tackle real, internal and external systemic issues. By hiring an executive search firm, we not only find the executive you are seeking who is paramount in creating change, but we also serve as a thought partner to help these organizations on many levels.

How do you maintain health and emotional well-being throughout the workday?

Working from home is almost harder than worker in an office. There have been days where I haven’t left my desk. My 2023 New Year’s resolution was to get up, move more, and step away from the computer/phone. I’ve stuck to it and now make sure to get up and out throughout the day.

What is your favorite way to unwind and relax after a productive day?

Cozying up, watching a show or movie, and going to bed early.

What's your favorite way to celebrate after a successful search?

Getting dressed up and going out to dinner and drinks!
